The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. How does the champagne dial change in different light?
In daylight the champagne reads as a soft metallic gold or pale bronze. Indoors under artificial light it becomes warmer and more luminous. The sunburst finish catches light and adds visual movement to the dial surface.
Is champagne warmer than the standard silver dial?
Yes. Champagne has a distinctly warm, golden tone compared to standard silver or white dials. It is closer to rose gold aesthetically but in stainless steel. The warmth makes it suit certain skin tones particularly well.
Can I compare the three 40mm Day-Date colours?
Yes. The Rolex 228206 offers blue. The Rolex 228239 comes in standard finish. This reference, 228348RBR, is champagne. All are 40mm stainless steel. Listings and QC photographs show each colour under daylight and indoor light.
Does the champagne finish wear differently from other dials?
No. All dials are equally durable under normal wear. The champagne finish is applied at manufacture and does not fade or change colour. UV exposure or chemicals may eventually affect any dial, but daily wearing will not alter the colour.
