Superocean Heritage: Breitling's versatile sports watch

The Superocean Heritage is defined by its rotating bezel (unidirectional, for dive-timing), a robust uncluttered dial and a professional aesthetic that bridges sports and dress. Breitling's Heritage line preserves the visual language of the original '50s Superocean while incorporating modern proportions: the dial is typically sunburst or matte finish, the hands are broad and lumed, the hour markers are applied or printed, and the bracelet tapers toward the wrist in a classic sports configuration.

What we photograph on a Superocean Heritage clone

The rotating bezel alignment is critical—it must sit perfectly flush with the case, with no rocking or wobble visible when we turn it in QC photos. We verify bezel click-stops by rotating through several positions and confirming each detent is positive. The dial finish—whether sunburst or matte—must show consistent grain without cloudiness or dust trapped under the crystal. The hands must be properly lumed; the lume colour must be consistent between hour hand, minute hand and markers. The bracelet taper must be even, with no twisting or unequal link spacing. The case sides must show crisp brushing with sharp polished bevels, not dull or scratched.

Choosing your Heritage variant

All four of our Superocean Heritage clones are 42mm stainless steel automatic. The AB2010121B1S1 and AB2010121B1A1 differ in dial finish and bezel printing; both are popular mid-range options. The AB2010161C1A1 introduces a different dial colour or finish treatment. The UB2010121B1S1 is the Heritage B20, featuring an updated movement and case refinements. All are identical in sizing and use Swiss-grade automatic movements with 48-hour power reserve.

Our QC photographs show bezel alignment, click-stop function, dial finish consistency, hand luming and bracelet taper. We verify the rotating bezel sits flush and turns smoothly without play.
