The dial on this newer reference is relatively simple, with applied indices and minimal text. We photograph straight-on to verify that the indices are perfectly aligned and evenly spaced. The bezel sits flush to the case side; we check for gaps or misalignment from the side profile. The 40mm Oyster case is polished on top surfaces and brushed on the sides, creating a two-tone finish; this transition must be clean and sharp, not blurred or inconsistent. The bracelet endlinks must seat flush without play or rocking. The Oyster clasp is solid and weighty; we inspect it for proper engagement and smooth action.
