TAG Heuer: the racing watch house
TAG Heuer's identity is racing chronographs and sports watches. The Carrera, originally designed as a stopwatch for motor racing, carries a tachymeter bezel and subdial chronograph layout; it's available in multiple case sizes from 41mm to 45mm. The Formula 1 is a or automatic sports watch designed around driver and trackside use, typically more compact. Other references like the Aquaracer and Monaco complete the portfolio. What we examine in TAG Heuer QC photographs
For Carrera clones with chronograph subdials, we photograph each subdial to ensure it's centred and sits square in its field—misalignment is the most common defect. The tachymeter bezel printing must be crisp and evenly spaced without fading or smudging. Chronograph hand alignment is critical: the minute hand must not drag on subdials or the hour markers. We verify the lume consistency—hour hand, minute hand and hour markers must all show the same tone and saturation. For Formula 1 references, we check dial print sharpness and bezel alignment. The case finish (brushed steel with polished bevels) must show no scratches, scuffs or dull patches. We record video of any chronograph engagement to show smooth operation without binding.
