The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is carbon, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 50 m water resistance for daily wear.
Men’s sizing. At 49.94mm it wears true to the original’s proportions. Every piece is checked and photographed before dispatch; the watch you receive is the one in the QC images we send you.

Does the tonneau case change how the watch wears?
Yes. The barrel shape distributes the case around the wrist curve, which can feel more natural than a round case of the same diameter.
Is carbon durable for the tonneau shape?
Yes. Carbon is strong enough for any case shape. The tonneau requires more finishing work, so QC scrutiny is higher for any warping or seams.
What colour is the dial on the RM055?
The dial is typically black or dark grey matte. QC photographs show the exact colour and finish in daylight before dispatch.
How does the 49.94mm compare to the round Richard Mille models at 50mm?
The difference is minimal numerically, about 0.06mm. The tonneau case geometry makes the size feel slightly different on the wrist.

What the RM055 is
The Richard Mille RM055 is a tonneau-cased carbon sports watch, stepping away from the circular case shapes Richard Mille favours elsewhere. At nearly 50mm, it is substantial, and the barrel-shaped case gives it a distinctive profile. The carbon material and closed dial make it genuinely wearable despite the size.
How our clone follows it
We build this with a 49.94mm case in carbon composite, sapphire crystal, and our Swiss-grade automatic. The tonneau case shape is complex to finish, so QC photographs focus on case uniformity, the rounded edges, and the dial seating. Any warping or case-side unevenness is visible in daylight photography.
On the wrist
The tonneau case wraps around the wrist differently than round cases, distributing the visual weight and making even a large watch feel more integrated. Carbon keeps it light, and the 49.94mm footprint is substantial without being unwieldy. For other carbon options in the Richard Mille line, try the RM35-01 in a circular case or the RM35-02 for a refined circular variant.
