What are the potential issues with a carbon case?
Carbon composite can develop micro-cracks if impact is significant, and the material is less forgiving than steel. Our QC process inspects for these flaws before dispatch. Minor scratches and scuffs are visible over time as the surface darkens.
How much lighter is the carbon case compared to steel?
At 44mm, carbon is typically 35–45% lighter than equivalent steel. The weight difference is very noticeable when wearing the watch all day compared to a steel RM1103.
Will the carbon case show wear marks easily?
Yes, more so than steel. Scratches and minor abrasions are visible as lighter marks on the dark carbon surface. Regular care and avoiding rough contact help preserve finish, but some patina develops with age.
Is the red dial on the carbon case the same shade as on steel versions?
Yes. The dial finish and colour are the same across case materials. The perceived difference may come from how light reflects off the carbon case versus steel, but the dial itself is consistent.
