The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 50 m water resistance for daily wear.

Is a white dial considered the standard for the 218239?
Yes, it's the most common version of the reference. Black and other tones exist, but white is the benchmark. If you're matching to published reference images, white dial will most closely match what you see online.
Why does the white dial photograph so well in QC?
White shows any dust, fingerprint, or misalignment instantly. When we send you QC photos, you'll see exactly what condition the dial is in. Black dials hide minor wear; white dials are transparent, which is why we photograph this version so carefully.
How resistant is the white dial to yellowing?
Very resistant under normal indoor and office light. Extended sunlight exposure over many years might cause imperceptible shift. Most of our customers report no visible yellowing after 2–5 years of daily wear.
Can I order a white-dial Day-Date in a smaller size?
Not in this reference. The 218239 is 41mm only. If you want white dial at 40mm, the 228238 is stainless steel; if you want a 36mm white-dial Day-Date, we'll need to check other references in stock.

The Day-Date II at reference 218239 is the 41mm perpetual calendar watch in its purest form. This version has a white dial, clean and classic, showing day and date in full text. The date window sits centred, the day ring is clear, and the sapphire crystal has anti-reflective coating on both sides. Water resistance is 50 metres for daily wear.

The white dial and stainless-steel case are the most versatile combination in the family—it suits business, evening, and weekend equally. The 41mm size means it reads as authoritative but not sporty.
