The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 50 m water resistance for daily wear.

Why is the black dial better for QC than other colours?
Black shows dust, scratches, and misalignment instantly. When we photograph the date window and day ring, you can spot any deviation. White or champagne dials hide minor wear; black dial photographs give you clarity on exactly what you're getting.
Does the 41mm feel too large on a smaller wrist?
At 41mm the case can wear large on wrists under 17cm. The president bracelet tapers at the end links, so you get a fitted look even with sizing. If you prefer something slimmer, the 36mm Day-Date references will suit better.
How often does the day wheel need service?
Under normal wear, never. The day mechanism is robust and will run for decades. If the day doesn't advance or sticks, it's usually crown friction or a worn pinion, which we cover under the 12-month warranty.
Is this 228206 the same case as the 228238?
Same 41mm case and movement. The 228238 has a champagne dial; this one is black. Both use stainless steel and the same president bracelet, so your comparison comes down to dial colour preference.

The Day-Date with reference 228206 is the modern 41mm perpetual calendar watch, showing the full name of the day and date on a single dial.
