Is this really gold or gold-plated stainless steel?
It's stainless steel with a yellow-gold colour tone applied to the metal surface. We don't make solid gold clones—that would be prohibitively expensive and impractical. The gold tone is visually and texturally consistent across the case, bezel, and bracelet.
How long does the gold finish last without fading?
The gold colour is applied during case fabrication, not plated, so it doesn't wear away with normal use. Over many years (5–10+) it may develop a patina or slight colour shift if exposed to sweat, but it won't suddenly flake or tarnish like traditional gold plating.
Does the 40mm gold case feel heavier than the steel version?
The gold-tone finish adds negligible weight; the steel beneath is the same gauge as the 41mm steel models. You'll perceive it as similar in hand. The visual warmth of the colour is the main difference, not the physical mass.
Can I order this with a white or champagne dial instead?
