The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. Will the champagne dial fade or discolour after years of wear?
Sapphire and our dial coating are UV-resistant. Long-term direct sunlight storage may cause extremely subtle fading, but under normal wear this is not observable.
Is the 36mm size too small for an adult male wrist?
Sizing is personal. The 36mm Day-Date suits wrists up to about 7 inches comfortably. Larger wrists may find it small relative to bone structure. Try a 41mm variant like the 218206 if you prefer presence.
Does the day wheel display all seven days in English?
Yes. All variants display MON, TUE, WED, THU, FRI, SAT, SUN, regardless of market or language.
How often should the movement be serviced on this reference?
A Swiss-grade movement worn daily typically needs attention every 3–5 years. If you notice skipping, sluggish hand movement, or hesitation, have it serviced sooner.

The Day-Date is Rolex's formal sports watch, displaying the day of the week at 12 o'clock and the date at 3 o'clock. It is a watch designed for professional settings and occasions where precision and presence matter equally.
The 118238 in stainless steel with a champagne dial is a classic, smaller variant: 36mm with warmth and reflectivity built into the dial itself.
How our clone follows it
We manufacture this in stainless steel with a 36mm case, sapphire crystal, and a Swiss-grade automatic movement. The champagne dial has a satin finish that catches light and adds depth. Water resistance is 50 metres for daily wear.
In QC photos, we verify the date window sits centred in its frame and the day wheel advances crisply at midnight. The champagne finish should show even colouring with no blotches or clouding. The numerals and indices must sit symmetrically on the dial.
On the wrist
At 36mm, this is a smaller, more discreet watch than modern sport models. It suits smaller to medium wrists and works equally well under a cuff as over a casual jumper. The champagne dial adds formality without coldness. For a larger variant, try the 218206-0009 at 41mm; for a black dial option, the 218239 offers contrast with diamond accent.
