The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 50 m water resistance for daily wear.

Is the grey dial gunmetal or light grey? Does it change colour in different light?
It's a medium grey—neither dark nor light. Under indoor bulbs it reads cooler; in daylight it warms slightly. This is not a dial defect; it's the nature of grey finishes. All matte greys behave this way.
What's the bezel click-feel and will it loosen with wear?
The bezel should click firmly at each minute marker (60 clicks around). Out of the box it's precise. Over years of heavy use, the spring can relax slightly, but this is wear, not a defect. A repairer can tighten it.
How deep can you actually dive with 50 metres water resistance?
Fifty metres is rated for snorkeling and shallow swimming, not diving. Professional diving requires hundreds of metres. Daily wear is the intended use.
Is the rotating bezel bidirectional or just one direction?
Most Seamaster Divers have a unidirectional bezel—it only rotates one way to prevent accidentally extending underwater bottom-time. This reference follows that design.

What the Seamaster Diver is

How our clone follows it
We build this in stainless steel, 42mm, with a Swiss-grade automatic that winds for 48 hours. The grey dial is the detail—it's a mid-tone that changes under different light, which is what makes it interesting and what makes it hard to copy well. In QC, we photograph the dial under studio light, natural light, and side-lit to confirm the grey tone sits right.
