The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. What is the wave-pattern dial, and why check it?
The wave pattern is a textured finish applied to the dial surface that creates subtle light-catching lines. It is Omega's signature on the Seamaster family. In the QC photo, it should be even and symmetrical across the entire dial face without bubbling or uneven patches. Texture consistency matters.
Does the bezel rotate on the clone?
Yes. The bezel is unidirectional—it rotates in one direction only, a safety feature for dive timing. On our clone, we test rotation in the QC video and confirm it turns smoothly with audible or tactile clicks. A grinding or catching bezel signals misalignment or debris inside the case.
What does the helium escape valve do?
The helium escape valve allows trapped helium gas to vent safely during rapid decompression in saturation diving. On our clone, it is present as a design element on the case flank, but it does not function as a pressurised escape. It is a visual feature, not an operational component.
Why is 42 mm considered mid-sized?
