Is the visible tourbillon a real mechanical component?
Yes. The tourbillon is a working mechanical cage inside the movement. It rotates continuously at one rotation per four minutes. You'll see it spin if you watch the caseback for 30 seconds. It is not a static display or animation.
How does the tourbillon affect timekeeping?
A tourbillon is designed to improve accuracy by averaging out the effects of gravity on the hairspring and balance wheel. In practice, a tourbillon-equipped clone keeps time within the same range as non-tourbillon models—within roughly -10 to +20 seconds per day.
Will the tourbillon cage ever stop or get stuck?
A properly constructed tourbillon rotates freely and will run as long as the movement has power. If it stops or gets stuck, the movement requires professional service. Normal wear does not cause this. The cage is made of precious metal alloy and is not fragile.
Can I view the tourbillon through the caseback at any time?
Yes, the caseback is transparent sapphire crystal. Position your wrist under a light source and look through the caseback. You'll see the tourbillon cage rotating. It's more visible in low light than in bright sunlight, where reflections on the crystal can obscure the view.
