The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 50 m water resistance for daily wear.

What makes this a 'Diver' compared to a standard Offshore?
The Diver variant features a more robust crown (larger and thicker), a crown guard that wraps partially around it, and dial markings optimised for readability in various light conditions. The case structure is thicker in places, particularly around the crown area.
Is the 50-metre water resistance adequate for swimming?
It's adequate for splashes, hand-washing, and light rain. For swimming or snorkelling, 100+ metres is the accepted standard. The 50-metre rating on this clone is for daily wear around water, not water sports.
Does the crown guard affect ease of use?
Slightly. The guard requires you to angle your thumb to reach the crown fully. Once you're accustomed to the positioning, operation is normal. Some users find the guard awkward initially; others appreciate the protection it provides.
Can I swap the octagonal bezel for a dial ring, or is it fixed to the case?
It's fixed to the case. Bezel replacement is not a home job and requires specialised tools. We recommend leaving the bezel as-is unless you have access to a qualified watchmaker.

At 42mm, the Diver sits in the Offshore size range but with a more utilitarian case shape. It suits athletic wrists and pairs well with rubber straps. If you prefer the standard Offshore aesthetic, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 42mm is the refined sibling. For something heavier, the Novelty Platinum at 44mm commands more presence.
