The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 50 m water resistance for daily wear.

How much does the rotating bezel rotate before it stops?
The bezel rotates a full 360 degrees continuously. There is no hard stop; it spins freely with a ratchet click every 10 degrees to mark the timing scale. The resistance is moderate and consistent.
Can I use the watch for actual diving?
The 50-metre rating is for daily wear, rain and shallow splashes only. Diving requires proper scuba certification and equipment testing. Treat this as a sports watch, not a dive computer.
What material is the rotating bezel made from?
The bezel is ceramic on a steel insert. Ceramic resists scratching and discolouration better than aluminium. The insert sits firmly in the case and does not rotate with the bezel.
How does the 42 mm diver case differ from the 41 mm standard Royal Oak?
The 42 mm is 1 mm larger in diameter. The lug-to-lug measurement increases by roughly 2 mm. The case height is identical. This small difference gives a sportier proportion without being oversized.

What the Royal Oak Diver is
A sports watch variant of the Royal Oak with a rotating bezel for diving timing. The octagonal case is instantly recognisable, but here the bezel rotates on a unidirectional ratchet. The dial is typically darker to suit underwater use. This is the Royal Oak built for water activities.

We've set this at 42 mm in steel with an automatic movement, sapphire crystal and rotating ceramic bezel. The 50-metre water resistance handles daily wear and occasional pool or shallow water use. In QC we verify the bezel rotation is smooth and has correct ratchet resistance, the octagonal case geometry is even, and the dial texture is uniform across the surface.

At 42 mm the Diver sits slightly larger than the standard Royal Oak, giving it a more pronounced sports character. The darker dial is functional and modern.
