The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 50 m water resistance for daily wear.

Is the chronograph mechanism fully functional?
The subdials are present and the chronograph structure is sound. The timing function works under normal use, though we don't guarantee precision against a lab chronometer. Service any chronograph specialist can handle; the architecture isn't proprietary.
How do the diamond-set bezel and chronograph work together?
The bezel is fixed (non-rotating), so diamonds sit permanently in place. Chronograph operation is independent of the bezel. The diamonds are purely aesthetic, adding visual interest without affecting function.
At 40mm, how does the Daytona wear compared to the Day-Date?
Both are 40mm, but the Daytona feels larger due to the three subdials and busier dial layout. The chronograph subdials take up real estate, so visually it reads as more substantial. Day-Date at the same size feels slimmer because the calendar windows are minimalist.
Can I use the chronograph if I don't know how?
Yes. The push-buttons (at 2 and 4 o'clock typically) start, stop, and reset the timing function. You don't need to use it; it's a complication, not a requirement. Press once to start, again to stop, then press the bottom pusher to reset.

What the Daytona is
The Daytona is Rolex's chronograph—a sport watch with three subdials for timing. Reference 116506-0001 is the stainless-steel version with a sport-casual aesthetic. This iced-out version sets diamonds into the bezel and case, adding sparkle to a tool watch. At 40mm it balances the substantial dial layout with wearable proportions.
How our clone follows it
We've built the case to 40mm in 904L stainless steel with a Swiss-grade automatic movement (the chronograph mechanism is secondary to core timekeeping). The iced bezel and case have diamonds set across the perimeter. During QC we photograph the stone placement—each must sit flush—and the subdial alignment, as misaligned chronograph subdials are obvious. Sapphire crystal, anti-reflective coating, 50 metres water resistance.
On the wrist
At 40mm and with three subdials, the Daytona is visually busy—intentionally so. The iced setting elevates it from purely functional to celebratory.
