The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 50 m water resistance for daily wear.

What is the difference between a glossy and matte dial?
A glossy black dial reflects light evenly and reads as a unified dark surface, while a matte finish absorbs light and shows more texture. The 116334 is glossy; you can see a soft shine in the QC photo. Glossy dials hide fingerprints less but feel more premium and formal.
Are the stick markers applied or printed?
Applied stick markers are thin steel rectangles glued to the dial surface, giving them dimension and a precise edge. Printed markers are part of the dial coating. Applied indices are typical of Datejust dress watches and require careful alignment—a detail we check in our QC photographs.
Why is the date window so important?
The date window is the most exposed moving part on the dial, and its centring and frame condition influence how finished the watch appears. A tilted or off-centre date looks immediately wrong. We photograph it straight-on to verify it sits dead level and that the white ring frames the numeral symmetrically.
Does stainless steel require maintenance?
Stainless steel is low-maintenance and resists corrosion. Occasional hand-wash with warm soapy water keeps it looking new. Saltwater exposure should be rinsed off promptly. Unlike some materials, stainless steel does not develop patina and is suitable for daily wear without special care or storage.

For this black dial with stick markers, we look closely in the QC photographs at whether the dial is glossy and even, whether the applied steel indices sit flush and aligned, and whether the date aperture is centred and clean. The bracelet taper and end-link gaps also receive close inspection.
On the wrist
At 41 mm, the watch carries presence on the wrist and works equally well in a boardroom or smart-casual setting. The black dial adds formality and hides dust better than lighter finishes. Step down to the Rolex 126300-0014 if you prefer a grey Roman dial, or the Rolex 179174 if you want the same collection in a smaller 36 mm case.
