The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. Why do two black dial 45mm Seamasters have different reference numbers?
Omega's reference code captures multiple variables: movement, bracelet end link design, and bezel construction. Small changes in production trigger new reference codes. Both are 45mm black dial Seamasters, but their manufacturing specs differ—hence two different names.
Can I tell the two black 45mm models apart visually?
The end links on the bracelet are the key difference. This reference (215.32) uses a half-link at the clasp; the 215.92 model uses a solid link. The bezel gradations also differ slightly in spacing. Our QC photos highlight these details in close-up.
Is the movement inside different from the other 45mm black models?
The movement itself—the Swiss-grade automatic—is the same family. The movement code affects how it's installed and regulated, but the operational specs (48 hours reserve, automatic winding) remain identical across variants.
If I own a 215.92 already, is the 215.32 worth adding?
That depends on whether you collect variants or prefer one definitive version per design. Collectors often keep both because the reference number tells the watch's production story. Casual wearers may find one 45mm black dial Seamaster sufficient.
