The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 50 m water resistance for daily wear.

Does mother-of-pearl change colour in different lighting?
Yes. Sunlight brings out iridescent blues and greens, while indoor light makes it appear more grey or silver. This natural variation is part of its appeal and no cause for concern.
Is mother-of-pearl durable for daily wear?
Mother-of-pearl lacquer is robust but not scratch-proof. Minor marks accumulate with wear, adding patina. Protect it from deliberate impact and harsh scrubbing. Careful wear preserves the finish for years.
Will the black surround discolour or fade?
The black border is stable under normal wear. Extreme UV without protection may cause subtle fading over many years, but daily use rarely shows visible degradation.
How rare is mother-of-pearl on the Daytona?
Mother-of-pearl dials are scarce on modern Daytonas. They were offered in limited runs as premium alternatives, making them collector pieces. This variant is distinctly uncommon.

What the Daytona is
The Daytona chronograph stands as the ultimate tool for timing, and this version features a mother-of-pearl dial—a premium material that catches light and shifts colour subtly as you move your wrist. How our clone follows it
We've constructed the case in stainless steel 40mm with sapphire crystal and anti-reflective coating, housing a Swiss-grade automatic movement with roughly 48 hours of power reserve. When we QC this dial, we examine how the mother-of-pearl lacquer sits flat without bubbles, verify the subdial alignment over the pearlescent background, and ensure the black surround is evenly applied—challenging because the dial's iridescence can mask tiny imperfections.
On the wrist
Mother-of-pearl is quieter than white dial, more reflective than black. In daylight it glimmers faintly; under indoor light it reads almost grey.
