Why is 26 mm considered vintage or retro sizing?
Modern Datejust cases range from 31 mm to 41 mm; 26 mm was historically the standard women's size decades ago. At 26 mm, this reference evokes classic watchmaking and suits collectors who prefer delicate proportions. It is genuinely small by today's standards and looks distinctly vintage on the wrist.
What makes the ivory dial special?
Ivory is a creamy white-to-pale yellow dial tone, warmer than pure white and less formal. Paired with Roman numerals, it reads as classical and vintage. Ivory dials age and may develop slight yellowing over time—a patina many collectors embrace. In the QC photo, the creamy tone should be uniform and glossy.
How legible is a 26 mm dial with Roman numerals?
Roman numerals are bold and remain legible at 26 mm, especially on the ivory dial which provides strong contrast. Does the small case mean it is less durable?
