The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 50 m water resistance for daily wear.

Does the black dial scratch easily or show dust?
Black shows dust more than you'd expect, but scratches are invisible—that's the trade-off. A microfibre cloth keeps it clean. The dial itself doesn't scratch under normal wear; the sapphire crystal above it is what protects from contact damage.
Is this a man's watch or do women wear 36mm often?
It's sized for men in the reference, but many women wear 36mm. Wrist size matters more than gender. Try one on if you can—36mm ranges from slightly large to perfect on different wrists.
What's the power reserve and how long does it hold time if unwound?
The Swiss-grade automatic winds for 48 hours, so missing a day won't stop it. After three days unworn, it stops. Hand-wind it to restart. Accuracy depends on position and use, but ±10 seconds per day is normal.
Why is the date window called a cyclops?
It's a magnifying lens built into the crystal directly above the date. The brand used this for decades. Our cyclops magnifies 2.5 times, matching the reference.
