The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 50 m water resistance for daily wear.

Does the sapphire case band make the watch more fragile than an all-steel Big Bang?
Sapphire is durable but brittle. It resists scratches better than steel but can crack if struck hard. The band is recessed, protecting it from direct impact.
Can you see the movement through the sapphire band clearly?
You will see the movement, but the sapphire band is not a large window—it offers a partial view of the internal gearing and parts, not a full exhibition back.
How does the chronograph function on the 525.CM.0170.RX work compared to the 301.CI.1770.RX?
Both use the same chronograph principle: pusher at 2 o'clock starts the chronograph hand; pusher at 4 o'clock stops it. The subdials measure elapsed time. The mechanism is similar; the case sizes differ.
If the sapphire band cracks, can it be replaced without opening the case?
The sapphire band is press-fit or glued into the case. Replacement requires careful case work by a specialist watchmaker. Contact us within warranty if this occurs.

What the Big Bang is
The Big Bang is Hublot's signature sports chronograph: a large, bold watch with a rotating bezel, multiple timing subdials, and modern case architecture. It is designed to be visible and functional under active conditions.
The 525.CM.0170.RX is a slightly larger variant of the Big Bang in stainless steel with a sapphire case band.
How our clone follows it
We build this in stainless steel with a 45mm case, sapphire crystal, and a Swiss-grade automatic chronograph movement. The case features a sapphire section running vertically, allowing a view of the movement. Water resistance is 50 metres for daily wear.
In QC photos, we verify the rotating bezel moves smoothly with audible click-stops. The chronograph pushers must engage crisply. The sapphire case band should sit flush against the side without gaps. The subdials must be centred and legible.
On the wrist
At 45mm, this reads as a bold statement piece. The sapphire band adds visual interest and engineering credibility. It suits larger wrists and confident styling. For a slightly smaller option, try the 301.CI.1770.RX at 44mm; for a different design language, the 441.OX.1180.RX Unico offers an alternative.
