Can I use the moonphase for real lunar tracking?
Yes. The moonphase disc tracks the lunar cycle and advances daily. It is not a perpetual moon phase; you will need to set it after 2.5 to 3 years of accuracy. Check the QC video to see the window movement before dispatch.
Does black dial feel less formal than grey?
Black dials read as more formal and elegant, often suited to evening wear and professional settings. Grey is more casual and sits between formal and sport. Both are timeless; the choice is your personal preference.
How often does the moonphase dial advance?
The moonphase disc rotates once per lunar month, roughly 29.5 days. A single tooth or cam on the movement engages the disc once per day to advance it. You'll see very small incremental movement day to day; over weeks the progression becomes obvious.
Is the black dial prone to showing dust or dirt?
Black dials show dust more readily than lighter colours due to contrast. Regular gentle cleaning with a soft, dry cloth keeps it looking sharp. Avoid touching the dial with fingers; oils and fingerprints become visible on black surfaces.
