The movement is automatic, so the seconds hand sweeps rather than ticks and the watch winds itself as you wear it. The case is stainless steel, finished by hand — brushed surfaces stay brushed and polished edges keep a clean line. What makes the Big Bang octagonal case special?
The eight-sided case is Hublot's signature: it blends round and angular aesthetics and creates a distinctive silhouette. Each side must sit at the correct angle for the watch to look balanced. We photograph the bezel from multiple angles to confirm all sides align and that no distortion is visible.
Is the bezel rotatable?
Yes. The rotating bezel is a tachymeter scale used for timing short events. On our clone, we test the rotation in the QC video and ensure it turns smoothly without catching or grinding. A smooth bezel suggests proper alignment of all internal stops.
What do the subdials measure?
Subdials on a chronograph measure elapsed seconds, minutes, and hours when the chronograph function is activated. On this model, they sit at standard positions (6, 9, and 12 o'clock). We verify they sit flat on the dial and that their alignment is perfectly centred.
How does the dial texture compare to other watches?
The Big Bang dial often has a raised or textured finish that differs from smooth Rolex or Omega dials. This adds visual depth. In the QC photograph, you will see the texture clearly; it should be even and free of scratches or uneven application across the full dial surface.
