What the Chronomat is

The Chronomat is Breitling's refined chronograph sibling to the Avenger. Where the Avenger is angular and tactical, the Chronomat softens the edges and refines the proportions. The case is still substantial, the bezel still rotates, but the overall aesthetic is more elegant. The dial is typically clean with applied markers, the hands are polished, and the overall impression is professional but not harsh.

Our two versions at 44 mm

We carry two Chronomat references, both 44 mm stainless steel with automatic movements, both at $1,388. The CB0110121C1C1 is one variant. The AB011012/B967/375A is the other. Both share identical case size, material, and movement; the cosmetic differences are in dial treatment or bracelet style.

What we check in photographs

When we QC a Chronomat, we examine the case for those softer lines that differentiate it from the Avenger. We check the rotating bezel for smooth action and proper alignment. We verify the dial layout and lume application on hands and markers. We photograph the case from multiple angles to capture the refined proportions. We inspect the chronograph pushers and the bracelet fit. The overall finish should be polished where appropriate and brushed where the design calls for it.
